The Reflection Pond Site Improvements project is a project set to enhance the Reflection Pond. The area that surrounds the pond has seen significant improvements in the last couple of years. There will be added lighting and security cameras along the walkways and pathways, as well sitting areas to create quiet reflection zones that need focus. ADA strategy was reviewed and will be integrated into both the pathway around the pond as well as the pathway to the elevator. There will be a new walkway around the pond perimeter to help with ADA access. The removal of the existing stanchions as well as a new pond access will be installed. Both of these additions paired with new water flow additions to the pond will help to prevent stagnant water and algae buildup.
There is an extensive tree protection plan associated with this project to protect the trees surrounding the pond. The Clemson University Landscape Services Team have been consulted and have helped in creating this tree protection plan. This plan specifies that Tree protection fencing will be installed, and construction activities will be restricted to only inside of the fencing. This fencing will be 5 feet in height and comprised of portable sections or roll fencing with posts 8 foot on center. The contractor shall maintain all tree protection fencing and tree protection measures through the construction of the project.
