Kite Hill Recycling Center (KHRC) is considered a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF). We at Clemson University are very fortunate to have this type of facility available for use on campus. The KHRC houses and facilitates much of Clemson University's day-to-day recycling and recovery activities. In addition to KHRC, we also have a Recycling Drop-Off Center available to students, faculty, and staff. Since many of our students commute to campus it is a great option for those looking for a place to bring their recyclables.
Recommended times for drop-offs are between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m., or from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. KHRC is closed on Saturday and Sunday.
The City of Clemson has a drop-off location at the Public Works/Brush Grinding Facility on 1155 Old Central Road. This location takes #1 and #2 plastics, paper, and steel and aluminum cans.
The KHRC is located just off Perimeter Road near Highway 76. Google Maps is a great way to find us if you need directions. The map below shows how to reach us from Tillman Hall.
The Construction and Demolition Dumpster is a restricted area for Clemson University business only. The public should take these types of materials to their local county landfill or drop off center. Please see the links below for local recycling locations.
