There are a number of recycling-related events that occur throughout the year such as recycling competitions with other schools, celebrating holidays that promote recycling and sustainability, and get-togethers for students, faculty, and staff that help keep the campus clean.
Football brings many visitors to campus, while celebrations in and around the stadium inevitably produce a large amount of waste in a very short time span. Recycling Services works especially hard on GameDays to ensure that revelers have ample access to recycling facilities near almost any gathering. We're grateful to the many student volunteers who help make GameDay Recycling a success each year. This helps us reuse our valuable resources, and also promotes good recycling practices within the community.
We are always looking for volunteers to help pass out recycling bags to our fans before the games. To get involved with GameDay Recycling, please email us at recycling@clemson.edu.
RecycleMania is a nationwide competition between over 600 universities across the nation to recover as much material from the landfill as possible. Occuring once per year for a period of 8 weeks in the Spring Semester, you can contribute to Clemson's ranking by recycling any waste you generate.
