University Facilities uses Bluebeam Revu for document review and markup. This page provides guides on how to participate in document review sessions using Bluebeam Revu, with sections specific to Clemson University staff as well as external partners.
If you have questions or comments about Bluebeam Revu and its use in UF processes, please e-mail Facilities IT Support.
Bluebeam is a software company that specializes in creating solutions for architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) professionals. Their flagship product, Bluebeam Revu, is a powerful PDF creation, editing, markup, and collaboration tool designed specifically for the AEC industry.
University Facilities leverages the Studio feature of Bluebeam Revu to host document review sessions in the cloud. This creates a kind of virtual space for planning and design reviews, allowing all participants to contribute comments and markup from practically anywhere. Once the review is completed, all shared documents including markup are downloaded into Clemson document storage.
All participants must download and install the latest version of Bluebeam Revu. The software has a time-limited free trial, after which users either pay for the program or continue to use it in a read-only mode. Regardless, all users of Bluebeam Revu can fully contribute in document review sessions that they are invited to by hosts (i.e. paid users).
Once installed, on first open users will be prompted to sign into Bluebeam. Participants must have a Bluebeam account and should create one prior to joining a Bluebeam Studio Session. With software and account in hand, please see the sections below for Clemson Users and External Users.
If you are a Clemson employee, please see our comprehensive guide on Bluebeam Revu Studio. While written with Facilities staff in mind, its section on Participating a Studio Session will bootstrap you with information typically seen in project management design reviews, including screenshots and short videos accessible to Clemson users.
If you an external participant, the resources below will assist with getting onboarded with Bluebeam Revu.
