The Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) was created to ensure safe and healthful working conditions for employees. Clemson University must provide a workplace for all employees and students that’s free from serious hazards and that follow OSHA requirements, such as:
OSHA training is required for employees as part of several standards. This training includes informing employees of the hazards they may encounter on the job and how to protect themselves from those hazards.
Each work area, including shops, offices, and storage areas, must be inspected or assessed for hazards or compliance issues which must be eliminated or minimized.
