University Facilities plays an important role in making sure that Clemson's campus is safe and free of environmental hazards. Our Environmental Safety team works diligently to ensure that students, employees and visitors are protected from harmful substances and potential dangers stemming from a number of sources. We have a comprehensive Asbestos Abatement program that aims to remove or reduce the chance of exposure to any existing asbestos in campus buildings. We also enforce compliance with OSHA as well as SPCC/Stormwater standards. Our group monitors indoor air quality, fume hood safety, respirator fit testing and general industrial hygiene. We're also responsible for preparing exposure assessments when a potentially hazardous incident has occurred.
